I did this mural in our living room in an old fireplace mantle. When we bought the house, the entire mantle was painted off white. It is not a usable fireplace, but why not make it an artistic focal point?
I painted this one specifically to match the existing wallpaper border.
This was just a fun little project as a gift to my sister, Rachel. Her husband had these plain wooden shoes around for years. I volunteered to add a little interest to them. This is an example of a traditional Dutch folk art called Hindenloopen.
I found this milk can behind my father-in-law's barn. It had been sitting out in the elements for at least 30 years. It was horribly rusty. I had it sandblasted. And this is what it looks like now. I just did this for my own personal challenge. Could I rescue a rusty piece of junk? Notice the handles. They are frozen in that position from 30+ years of rain, snow, sleet and sun.
This was a very tiny powder room that I painted. It is a garden theme with a picket fence and flowers.
Above is a detail of a dragonfly. Sorry it is blurry. I was very frustrated that I could not get a clear picture of it. One of my goals is to get a better camera!
I am a mom and a wife. I have 3 really cool kids and a great husband. I'm also a librarian at a high school near Rochester, NY.
. More importantly, I am a child of God. I desire to grow in Christ every day. The Lord has been faithful throughout my entire life. He has carried me through some tough times.
